A hip bone is formed by the fusion of 3 bones: the ilium, the pubis and the ischium.
The ilium forms the superior 2/3rds of the hip bone.
The ischium forms the inferoposterior 1/3rd of the hip bone.
The pubis forms the inferoanterior 1/3rd of the hip bone.
Tap on the hip bone where you would expect to find the ilium, and it will appear shaded yellow, the ischium green and the pubis red.
You should be able to identify the location of these 3 bones in the adult hip bone.
