The anterior gluteal line is found on the lateral aspect of the ala of the ilium. It originates near the anterior iliac crest and courses inferiorly to the superior aspect of the greater sciatic notch where it meets with the posterior gluteal line. Tap where you would predict to find this structure and it will appear shaded red.
