The fovea of the head of the femur is an indentation on the proximomedial aspect of the smooth femoral head. This fovea is where the ligament of head of femur attaches. The ligament of head of femur connects the head of the femur and acetabulum of the hip. Tap where you would predict to find this structure and it will appear shaded red.
